Samsung S25 FE - Samsungs New smartphone for it's fans

For years, Samsung has offered both budget-friendly and premium phones that stand out for their design, capabilities, and quality. During this time, Samsung has gained millions of loyal new customers, largely thanks to its premium S series.

However, as time has passed, the prices of the premium models have remained very high, which has disappointed many customers. For this reason, Samsung introduced the Fan Edition (FE) series. The FE versions are more affordable than the base S series. While they might have a plastic body, a less premium visual design, or lack some features that wouldn't be a major loss for most users, their performance and power are kept as close as possible to their higher-priced siblings.

This strategy for the FE series has proven to be a successful one..Samsung has another surprise for its fans. For years now, Samsung has been releasing a special “Fan Edition” model of its S series, aimed at its loyal followers. Since its first launch, the Fan Edition has attracted plenty of attention with its specs and competitive pricing. This is largely because the Fan Edition comes with slightly more budget-friendly build quality and a few minor compromises compared to the premium S series models, resulting in a lower price.

This is especially notable when compared to Samsung's more budget-oriented A series, whose prices have risen significantly in recent times. For example, the price of the A73 was already approaching that of the S series Fan Edition, prompting many buyers to choose the S series instead—thanks to its more premium feel and better specs. This might even be one of the reasons why Samsung discontinued its A7x lineup.

In this blog, we'll focus on the new generation of the Fan Edition - the S25 FE. Its release date is still unknown, but we can expect updated specifications. Traditionally, Samsung equips the latest Fan Edition models with specs similar to those of the previous year's premium flagship. If that's the case this time, the S25 FE is likely to share similar hardware with the S24.

It is expected to feature a 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and weigh around 190 grams. The international variant will likely use Samsung's Exynos 2400 processor, while the US and Chinese versions are expected to come with the Snapdragon Gen 3 chipset. As for memory, the S25 FE will reportedly have 8GB of RAM and internal storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB — likely using UFS 3.1 technology.

Camera rumors suggest a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The selfie camera is expected to be 12MP with an f/2.2 aperture, which should be an improvement over the S24 Fan Edition. Battery details remain unknown, but reports indicate it will support 45W wired charging — a welcome upgrade from the predecessor's 25W limit.

As for the price, early speculation suggests it could range between $550 and $700.
