Today I dedicate this blog especially to those people who really love taking care of their car and want to maintain the car's original appearance for as long as possible. Probably many people have had the moment when, as time goes by, the car's paint loses its shine day by day, gets scratched, and fades. This is a painful sight, especially when you are not planning to change the car for a long time. But even if so, when selling the car, this aforementioned fact definitely affects its price. Today I want to talk to you about the Soft99 brand's Fusso Coat, which is what I chose. Since I have never had any experience applying ceramic coating to a car, I was afraid at first. This wax really gives a good result, but just a slight incorrect action is enough for the wax to show up as white spots on the paint. It cannot be overused, and for an ideal result, an ideal amount needs to be applied. After I familiarized myself with the principles of this wax, I decided to buy it online. At that specific moment, I paid $30 for it. You can buy it on eBay as well as Amazon or other online platforms. There are two kinds of Fusso Coat: white, which is intended for light-colored cars, and black, which matches dark-colored cars. When I received the item, I decided to wait for a moment when there would be a few sunny days in order to avoid unwanted rain, and this day came. Before applying Fusso, the car must be perfectly washed. This is necessary because if dirt gets between the paint and the wax, it will become sharply visible and its removal will be impossible until we remove the wax itself. So I got to work: first I rinsed it well, then I washed it with car shampoo and dried it. You will often come across instructions for Fusso, but sometimes its variety becomes confusing; some say that applying it with circular motions is better, but officially it says only with hand movements from right to left or vice versa. I started with the car's hood. I carefully dipped the sponge that came with it into the wax, applied it to the sponge with a circular motion 3-4 times, and started applying it to the hood. The first thing I noticed was that the sponge was not sliding well on the paint, so I had to wet it completely and wring it out. You will also find this in the instructions: the sponge must be rinsed well in water (it will be better if you fill a bucket with clean water and rinse it inside) and then it must be wrung out.
After wetting the sponge, applying Fusso became much easier, although there was one important nuance that worried me a bit: when applying it to the paint, you can almost not see the applied wax. But at this time do not try to apply a large amount of Fusso, because when it is almost invisible, that is exactly when it is ideal, so I trusted the instructions and continued. The next important stage is that we should not try to apply the wax all at once, it must be a slow and careful process and we really do not need to rush. I realized this from the beginning and chose a day that was completely free from other tasks. After applying it to the hood, I waited about 5-7 minutes and then polished it with a clean microfiber cloth. This is a necessary process and without doing it, the wax will stick to the paint incorrectly. It is important and should be taken into account that the drying time depends on temperature and humidity; if it is cold outside, then you will have to leave it on longer and consequently the whole process will be longer. So, after polishing the hood, I moved to the fenders, then to the doors and other parts, and the whole process took me about 5-6 hours.
This was quite a long and tiring process and of course I wanted to see the result immediately. The car showed a shine and reflects everything like a mirror, but I didn't give in to emotions. Fusso's recommendation is that we do not wash the car for 24 hours so that the wax dries well. Fusso is a hydrophobic wax, it repels water which helps the car stay clean. Exactly for this reason, it is necessary to have cloudless and sunny weather for at least 2 days. The next day I decided to do a small test. I filled a bottle with water and poured it on the hood, the result turned out to be amazing. The water immediately starts looking for a way to escape, and if the surface is flat it gathers into round drops, and when starting the car, these drops also immediately went away. All this was good, but I was still thinking, was all this worth so much work? I found out the answer to this soon. Until now, after washing, the car was clean for a maximum of 1 day because a black car especially quickly shows dirt. On the third day after applying the wax, heavy rain started and lasted for 2 days. Of course, during this time I was using the car actively, and the result was simply amazing, as if the car became completely protected from everything, and this was a real victory for me, and on the fifth day after washing, the result is like this.
My car is a 2004 Subaru Legacy BL5, even though I really loved taking care of it, the problem of paint care always bothered me, because it is already a 22-year-old car and time does its thing, and this discovery of mine will definitely be useful to those who love taking care of cars, because its age does not matter, if you take care of it correctly it will always be noticeable. After applying the wax, I received many questions from people about why my car was shining like this, and the answer is simple, it is an amazing product, and in the near future I will offer you a blog on how to take care of this wax so that it lasts as long as possible.
Fusso99 promises 12-month protection, but its proper care really determines how much time will pass before you have to repeat this process from the beginning.
