Today, a television is an integral part of every home. Even though its popularity is decreasing day by day, the tradition of owning a TV is deeply rooted in us, and without it, a house feels somewhat empty. That is why, when choosing one, it is essential to consider the nuances so that this purchase is acceptable to you and you don't discover something in the future that will interfere with your comfortable rest at home.
When choosing a TV today, it is necessary to take into account such nuances that we simply wouldn't have paid attention to before. This was due to the fact that its functionality was limited; it did not have an operating system, memory, and so on. The main focus was on the TV having a good picture and being durable, as well as being able to receive digital channels, and this was the complete list of its functionality. There may still be people today who choose a TV based on these criteria, but I want to tell you that in modern life, TVs have been given a much greater purpose than just showing TV broadcasts.
Of course, it was inevitable in the Android and digital era, when smartphones are evolving, that we would also see the development of televisions, and this is exactly what happened. Today, it is even essential for a TV to have an operating system and be able to connect to the Internet. The speed of its Internet connection is also of great importance because your complete comfort depends on it. The fact is that nowadays we use TVs to watch movies, run YouTube or other applications, listen to songs, and more. It is as if its functionality has become similar to that of a smartphone, and that is indeed the case. Despite the fact that a very large part of TVs run on the Android TV system, there are brands that have their own operating systems, and there are differences between them.
Today, I will talk about one such TV, which represents the well-known brand Samsung. Samsung has established its name in the smartphone market for years, but not only there; it produces a lot of small or large appliances, and TVs are one of its main products. Samsung's strong suit is also its display production. The displays of Samsung phones or other screen-equipped appliances have always been distinguished by bright, beautiful colors and high-resolution images. Today we will talk about a 43-inch Samsung UHD TV. I will tell you in which cases it is good to use it and in which cases it is worth opting for another brand's TV. The Samsung Crystal UHD TV is a budget model with 4K resolution, a 60 Hz refresh rate, and HDR support. It has 20-watt speakers, and what I can say about the sound quality is that it is normal. These are stereo speakers, and it can certainly be said that I wouldn't expect more in this budget; the sound is clear and clean. Thanks to its mega contrast and Samsung's excellent display, the picture is simply wonderful. Even though this is a budget model, you can definitely feel its Samsung quality. In these models, you will find 43-inch, as well as 50-inch, 55-inch, and 60-inch versions. The model has 3 HDMI ports with the ability to output 4K 144Hz images, as well as 1 USB port for connecting additional memory or any gadget, and, of course, a classic antenna port.
Now I want to talk to you about the process of choosing and replacing an old TV. When I needed to change my TV and went to buy one, I recommend that you measure your old TV along with its frame. Since my old LG model was 42 inches, its bezels took up so much space on the wall that a 50-inch Samsung UHD model would have actually fit. This is, of course, because the Samsung model has very thin bezels; these are the latest model TVs, and almost the entire TV is occupied by the display. This way, you can avoid choosing an unpleasant size.
Let's move on to the biggest minus or, conversely, plus of this Samsung model: its operating system, Tizen OS. This OS is not an Android system but Samsung's own operating system. It is very similar to the Android system, but there are major or very large differences. Of course, due to the fact that we do not have Android here, we do not have access to the massive, huge Play Store market where there are numerous free programs, including those we use on phones or other Android devices. Samsung's Tizen market has a much more scarce number of applications. It is even impossible to find browsers here such as Google Chrome, Opera, and others, so you will be forced to use the Samsung browser, which has its own peculiarities. Even if this were not the case, many people simply prefer to use well-known applications. Finding a good and working IPTV program in which I could run my Internet television also became a problem. After all, this program is just an empty menu until we run our paid channels in it, but even this was difficult to manage. Not directly from the program, but from a program called media x station—this is not a direct program but a command line from which, through codes, you can access some programs that are not directly in the Tizen OS store. That's exactly how I managed to install a normal, functional IPTV program, but this is no longer comfort, but an attempt to bypass the limitations of Tizen's undesirable operating system. Of course, you will easily find very famous and popular apps here, such as YouTube or Netflix, but the vast majority of people also need access to simple programs. As for the Samsung browser, watching movies using it is a real test of nerves because it is often unstable.
The Wi-Fi speed and the operating system's overall performance speed of this Samsung model are good; it is not characterized by freezing or lags. If we forget about its poor support, then its menu is really easy to understand. Despite the small buttons on the remote control, you can easily control everything and enjoy its clear picture. To summarize this post, I can advise you to buy it if you do not have a specific requirement for an Android TV system and Tizen does not pose an obstacle for you. Its price is definitely acceptable, costing around 300 dollars on average, which is quite budget-friendly on the market. However, we must also mention its competitors because sometimes in this budget you can find a larger 50-inch TV, moreover with an Android system. Here, I leave the choice up to you: is it worth paying this money for a Samsung display? Even on the displays of other manufacturers in this budget, I couldn't say they are bad.
